The Principality of Sturgia, is a clan-based on The Russian people who were people taken over Vikings. They are located in the northern forests and only came to be a century ago when they elected the CUrrent Grand Prince Raganvad to lead them in war.

They excel at Horse Archer units, with a fully dedicated branch of units called the Nomads. They took their name from one of their first warlords, Wilund the Bold - Valandion, in Calradic - and became known as the Vlandians. Weak melee and skirmish cavalry units, requiring advanced use of tactics to win battles. Strong range units with archers and throwing units which can do a lot of damage while the infantry holds the line.

Battanian Highborn Youth line of archers are very strong, and Elite Battanian Fians prove very useful in battles. The Khuzaits are a nomadic people based upon Mongols and Turks who inhabit the eastern steppe. Aserai specializes in extensive Cavalry, and also have solid Archery units in addition to the Mameluke.

Wildlings are powerful heavily armored shock infantry troops. In Warband, Vlandia's old and more expansive land is split between the Rhodoks, who rebelled and split off from Swadia, the Swadians in central Vlandia, and the Nords who were able to take a portion of northern Vlandia. Sturgia has the best infantry in the game, but severely lacks cavalry. King Derthert Wages Whether it be vladian bannerknights, the horsepeople or anyone else, when i tell them to charge, follow me, hold position inside the enemy formation, or advance, they never couch lance. Mamelukes provide a nice diversity of ranged heavy cavalry and combat cavalry as well as two-handed shock troops. The Western third of the empire is ruled by Garios. During a period of instability in the Empire, Osrac Iron-arm declared himself king of Vlandia, leading to de facto independence.
